We are installing a whole house full of oak strip flooring in new construction in a home in Pacific Palisades, California. While it is always important to be aware of moisture levels before installing new flooring, it is especially important with new construction. In this case we have been monitoring the levels for a couple of months.
Once we are sure we have normalized the humidity in the house and subfloor we are ready to perform leveling as needed. The industry standard is 1/4″ deflection within 10 feet; we made some adjustments to meet the standard and then started installation.
This job is being done by Simril Design and Construction a company with longevity and a reputation for using only quality subcontractors. This is a 2400 foot installation of oak strip floor in a new build and they wanted the job done properly. They knew by using Greg Garber Hardwood Floors no shortcuts would be taken, the job would be done right.
