This beautiful Hollywood, California residence was remodeled to create a beautiful blending of old and new The architectural details were opened up an streamlined, while the décor remains traditional, but with an edge, almost like a modern farm house.
The result is stunning. The antique furniture really softens the look of the form of the room and the floor. The client chose a 5” Engineered Hickory Pecan Flooring which we glued in over a Noise reducing membrane. This really softened the transfer of sound as well as the impact noises. This is a pre finished material by Garrison, and has a slight hand hewn distressing to it. This gives it a handmade feel, while not making it as rustic as some of the more distressed floors available. This wood really creates a warm anchor without darkening the space.
