This incredible Bel Air California traditional Living Room boasts a three inch medium brown stained Red Oak. This choice does not take you far away from the old fashioned strip Oak floors that are found in the rest of this stately residence, but takes a slightly newer appearance from the width of the pieces being 3 inches.
By staying with the species, and job finished appearance of he older floors in the house, the designer was able to finish the rest of the old floors with the same color and texture, for uniformity, while still making the Living Room feel more important. This floor was installed over an existing raised wood subfloor, allowed to acclimate for 3 weeks with the humidity levels being monitored in the space, and then sanded, stained, and polyurethaned on site for a perfectly flush surface.
The medium browm color is a nice warm anchor for all of the brightness that exists here.
